1.Program Introduction

'Perceiving China, Perceiving Tianjin' is a cultural exchange activity designed for international students worldwide who are interested in Chinese culture and the local characteristics of Tianjin. The project delves into traditional and modern Chinese cultures through diverse cultural experiences and educational travels. It enhances international students' understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture while also fostering cultural exchanges between China and the world.

2. Application

l Applicant: International students interested in Chinese culture and Tianjin culture.

l Application Process: Students should submit their applications via email to tjut_globalprogram@163.com. Applications should include a resume and a personal statement detailing their motivation for participating in the program and the expected benefits.

3.Schedule

1. Opening Ceremony and Introduction: Overview of Tianjin and Chinese culture, with an introduction to the schedule of events.

2. Language and Culture Experience Course: Offers basic Chinese language courses to assist students in everyday communication.

3. Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Workshop: Establishes workshops on calligraphy and Chinese painting, allowing students to experience the art of Chinese writing and painting.

4. Tianjin Historical and Cultural Tour: Organizes tours of the Ancient Culture Street and the Five Avenues area, immersing participants in the historic charm of Tianjin. Additionally, the tour includes a visit to Yangliuqing Ancient Town for the "Jinmen Lansheng" series of scholarly activities, providing an in-depth understanding of Tianjin's historical development.

5. Modern Tianjin City Tour: Visits modern landmarks and the Hai River surroundings in Tianjin, exploring the city's modern aspects.

6. Beijing Historical and Cultural Tour: Travels to Beijing to visit historical landmarks such as the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, including a journey to the Great Wall, to experience the historical depth and unique charm of Chinese culture.

7. Cultural Exchange and Practice: Hosts a cultural festival to promote cultural display and exchange among students.

8. Closing Ceremony and Certificate Presentation: Shares learning outcomes and awards certificates of participation.

6.Costs

Participants are responsible for their own flight and insurance costs for travel to and from China. Expenses incurred during activities within China, including accommodations, will be supported by special scholarships offered by our university.
